Scope and Contents Mary E. Bachelder Papers contains a note titled "A Reminiscence of School Life" written by Mary E. Bachelder on June 14th, 1872. The letter describes her life at Wheaton Seminary and recounts her arrival and first year at the Seminary. Also included is Mary's Composition No. 5, "What shall be our Motto?," of which Miss Parker, her teacher, wrote "What a horrid thing" and gave her a mark of 10. This collection is comprised of typescript copies of Sarah A. Jarvis' correspondence. It contains twenty letters between Sarah, friends, and family, while she was a student at Wheaton Female Seminary, 1843. The collection also contains forty letters between Sally, friends, and family concerning family affairs, 1843 -1850. A color photograph of Sarah A. Jarvis' portrait in included.
